DT Swiss FR 541 Classic 30 Boost wheelset, handmade by Alutech Cycles in Ascheffel, Schleswig-Holstein (Northern Germany)

The DT Swiss FR 541 Classic wheelset with Boost hubs excels in demanding gravity riding thanks to its outstanding durability,
puncture resistance, and low weight. Its secret lies in the 30 mm wide aluminum rim,
which optimizes load distribution in extreme situations, thereby improving handling.
Compared to its predecessor, the FR 1950, the rim profile has been selectively reinforced in key areas
to provide optimal impact resistance for Freeride and Downhill riding.
Additionally, the rim flanges are shaped to minimize the risk of pinch flats.
The FR 541 rim is identical to the rim used in the DT Swiss FR 1500 system wheelset.
The use of 32 J-bend spokes on both the front and rear wheels makes this wheelset extremely robust.
At the heart of the build are the race-proven, lightweight 350 Disc (6-bolt) hubs featuring the Ratchet freehub system,
renowned for its rapid power engagement and ease of maintenance.

Technologies:
Intended use: Category 5
Suitable for use in extremely steep and rough terrain with very large jumps or
drops at speeds exceeding 40 km/h. Excellent riding technique required.
Also suitable for use in bike parks and on downhill (DH) tracks.
Due to the extremely high loads involved, inspecting for potential damage after every ride is mandatory
to prevent failure during the next ride. The product's service life may be reduced due to such extreme usage.
Pro Lock
The nipple threads are coated with a two-component adhesive to enhance wheel durability.
The wheel can be re-trued multiple times without issue, though the adhesive strength decreases slightly in the process.
The connection between the spoke and the nipple cannot work itself loose.
Ratchet
A toothed washer and a threaded ring are integrated into the hub. This reduces the number of required components,
resulting in less wear and lower weight.
Furthermore, the robust and reliable ratchet freehub system is quick and easy to maintain.
This is largely due to the "no-tool" concept, which allows the freehub to be replaced without tools.
The freehub features two washers that engage simultaneously.
This creates a large contact surface and minimizes point loading,
reducing stress on the material and ensuring the freehub operates with exceptional reliability and precision.
