The master unit itself is a testament to its power. It has a powerful design and blends perfectly with the look of modern downhill e-bikes.
The ergonomic lever made of lightweight Carbotecture material fits comfortably under the fingers and moves a 12 mm diameter piston.
It provides a direct braking feel and leaves nothing to be desired in terms of modulation. It also features a predetermined breaking point
to minimize damage in the event of a fall. Thanks to the screwed pivot point, a new lever can be quickly installed.
Of course, the individual reach adjustment can be carried out tool-free using a small dial.
Installation is also extremely simple.
The foldable clamp can be attached without removing the grips and, thanks to the Shiftmix adapter (not included),
allows the attachment of SRAM and Shimano shift levers.
Another innovative solution is the EASY-LINK connector. This allows the brake hose to be quickly disconnected without the need for special tools.
Simply remove the cover cap, pull out the cotter pin, and the cable is removable.
A clever idea, especially for today's frames with internally routed cables.
4-Piston Brake Caliper
The solid brake caliper, forged from high-quality aluminum, delivers concentrated braking power to the disc.
Four pistons with a diameter of 19 mm take care of this.
The one-piece design increases rigidity and ensures very sensitive braking.
MDR-S Brake Discs
The Magura Gustav PRO and the Magura MDR-S 2.5 brake discs form the ideal pair.
Their 2.5 mm thick friction ring guarantees lasting stability even on long downhill rides.
Furthermore, a diameter of 203 mm is perfectly sufficient at this thickness.
Of course, conventional brake discs can also be used without any problems.
For optimal deceleration, the 13.S brake pads were installed. They contain approximately 40% more material
compared to the MT7 and ensure smooth and powerful braking, as well as extremely low wear.
Furthermore, the special compound eliminates the need for long break-in periods.
Because you'd rather ride than tinker, the individual components of the Magura Gustav PRO are specially designed for durability.
Not only do the robust brake pads and discs extend maintenance intervals, but the large 7 ml reservoir also ensures minimal air in the system.
Should bleeding ever be necessary, an improved valve makes this much easier. Furthermore, there are no hidden corners or dead ends in the oil channel, so every air bubble is squeezed out.
