Who let the dogs out? Alutech makes serious and brings the Armageddon frame as a limited edition
How was it again in early 2020? Jürgen Schlender, veteran at Alutech Cycles, makes the best of dreary lockdown times: true to the company motto True Riding, he reflects on the core of our passion and welds, inspired by the Grim Donut of the colleagues from Pink Bike, without further ado a daring bike: the geometry experiment "Armageddon", named after his recently deceased poodle.
The goal was to experience the limits of geometry without having to wait for the natural evolution of the bike industry to do so for years to come.
And the community ... was more than curious: in the comment columns of the forums there was lively activity, no bike medium that did not report on it. Of course, such a bike polarizes, but most were highly interested, even enthusiastic, the craving for a detailed test was great. Almost everyone wanted to know whether a fully with 57 ° steering angle and 81 ° seat angle was seriously rideable. And then there was the faction that actually just wanted to know where it goes fastest "to the shopping cart".
All those should be told, now there is finally the chance!
Because after extensive testing, even at Alutech all involved agreed: this beast is not suitable for every driver, but still no reason to lock it away once and for all. Therefore, the Armageddon for a handful of downhill addicted and adrenaline thirsty downhill pilots may soon be the new horse - or should we say: king poodle - in the stable.
And by the way, this project also marked the beginning of a new era at Alutech - if you will, another effect of the pandemic-related upheavals: In keeping with Alutech's new mission statement, the frames are made in Europe and, in this case, even welded by boss Jürgen Schlender himself in Germany. The racehorse is available in one size and, like the prototype, has a steering angle of 57°, but a more moderate seat angle of 80.2°.
The article photo shows a possible version as a complete bike - the frameset comes with mainframe and rear end, TwinWorks Axle und Seat Clamp. The frame is pre-assembled with rocker and the frame bearings (without headset), if you send us a rear brake line, this can also be included in the pre-assembly of the frame. If desired, a gear cable housing and a housing for a dropper post can also be included. Please enter information about this in the message field at the end of the order when ordering the frame
The shock is not part of the scope of delivery, but can be ordered seperately.
