SRAM Scheibenbremse Code RSC Rear
SRAM disc brake CODE RSC
Braking has different meanings. For the Code, braking means being fast enough to win the Downhill World Championship or tackle the steepest alpine descents. Or rushing up a single trail - thanks to the new e-mountain bike possibilities. Code is the right tool to slow down the riders who ride harder, faster and more intense. It uses the proven SRAM Guide design and technologies. With the larger PiggyBack reservoir and a larger diameter four-piston caliper, it offers consistent and reliable performance for all heavy-duty applications. Bleeding Edge technology makes maintenance easy.
Consisting of the elements that made the Guide a benchmark in braking design and performance, the Code RSC offers 15% more power to excel in all heavy-duty applications. SwingLink and ball-bearing levers provide a soft and progressive feel at the lever, while the 30% greater positive amount of brake fluid guarantees consistent performance even with harder and more frequent braking, or with a larger mass to be braked.
Technologies:
Bleeding Edge
The Bleeding Edge technology allows quick and easy bleeding of the brakes. Thanks to the new fluid channel and the redesigned bleed port, the fluid can be pumped through the caliper more easily. A special adapter slips onto the vent hole and seals the system to prevent air ingress and fluid loss.
Contact point adjustment
Some people like the instantaneous power delivery of short lever travel. Others, on the other hand, prefer the feel of longer lever travel. With the contact point adjustment you can determine the position where you want your fingers to be when the brakes are applied. So you can quickly and easily adapt the feel of your brakes to your needs.
Reach Adjustment
The fit and ergonomics of the brake lever is a very personal matter. Riders have individual position preferences, as well as unique hand sizes and finger lengths. With the reach adjustment, the lever can be easily adjusted - for maximum control with just one finger.
DOT 5.1
Heat is the enemy of every braking system. Better heat management also makes your ride significantly safer. We have found that DOT 5.1 takes three times longer than DOT 4 to reach boiling point. This ensures smooth and unrelenting stopping power in even more extreme conditions.
Expandable Bladder
SRAM's new brake lever design includes a new bladder shape that regulates and reduces air bubbles. The bladder is specially shaped to pump air out of the lever and trasport the liquid exactly where it is needed. The result is improved back pressure relief for reliable and consistent braking performance.
SwingLink
When you pull on a new SRAM brake lever, you'll immediately notice the difference. A shorter idle travel and an optimized actuation of the brake pads. Due to the new cam design, a shorter lever travel is necessary to push the brake pads towards the brake disc. That's nice, but there's more to perfect braking than just power. They need control. Many brake systems offer a shorter free travel - but at the expense of modulation. SwingLink solves this problem with its special cam shape. When the brake pads touch the brake disc, the force is modulated, avoiding the "sticky" brake feel. This creates the perfect balance between power and precision.
Top mount brake pads
When a bike repair is preventing you from getting back on track as soon as possible, every second counts. With our top-mount disc brake pads, there's no need to remove the wheel, work under the caliper, or bend your fingers - and you'll be back on the track much faster.
